Unix
System Administators :
- Minimum 3 years experience after
graduation
- 2 years in tuning and capacity
planning experience
- Must have documented experience
including a written documentation
and justification
capacity plan you have
previously done
- System utility coding with
shell-scripting using
Bourne, Korn and/or Csh, C/C++
- TCP/IP server support,
logical volume management
and system
security (Cisco
router and firewall
experience desired) - Have
popular
unix hardware platform
and Network Appliance
experience
- Demonstrated oral and
written communication
skills to
interpret technical
information and communicate
to customer
end users and company
teams with varying
level of computer
literacy
- Tape backup and recovery
procedures using
any of the following
backup management
tools
- Veritas NetBackup,
ARCserve, Legato,
OmniBack II, BMC,
Tivoli
- Have knowledge
of versioning
control software such
as Perforce or
CVS
- RAID, Storage
Area Networks
design
and implementation
- Technical certifications
in Sun, or
HP systems
and/or
network
administration
- Ability to
travel
up to 25-30%
in the
region
- Must be
willing
to work
in a
24X7 environment
and be
part
of an
on-call rotation
- SUN Solaris
Sparc/Intel,
HP9000,
RS/6000,
and
DEC Alpha
platforms.
